| Description: | POISE An acrobatic exhibition dance is performed by Tracey and Hay. Dance duo Tracey and Hay give a performance requiring lots of strength, balance, etc. on stage with urns on marble pillars and palms. He wears trousers and a white shirt with poofy sleeves; she wears a bikini with a fringy tutu, tights and toe shoes. Their routine is a combination of acrobatic dance & ballet. He lifts her into various poses incl. a very difficult looking one in which he holds her by one leg, her foot supported on his thigh, while she lifts the other leg straight up behind her and leans her torso out and away from him. In another she balances on one leg - en pointe at that (up on her toes), holds the other leg straight out in front of her and slowly lowers herself until almost sitting on floor, then rises up again. This requires incredible muscular strength. Next he holds her up and she very slowly leans back in a mid-air backbend, finally bending her knees so he's holding her calves with the rest of her hanging down. Then she actually lifts herself up again. Cut to MLS from almost directly over the dancers while she is rising. Cut back to LS. She quickly bends back again, plants her hands on the floor and turns on over into standing position. He picks her up and carries her offstage in an arabesque position. | |
