Description:PONGO THE PUP - PONGO'S RODEO Animation showing that very naughty puppy Pongo. He trains to be a boxer.

Pongo sees a sign advertising a steer throwing competition with a £100 prize. He shows the audience his empty pockets and dreams of a money bag with £100 in it. Silhouette of buildings in the background reminiscent of the Wembley Exhibition. A goat suddenly appears, headbutts Pongo then kicks him with his hind legs. (As we know from "Pongo Cleans up the Goat Family", Pongo and Goats do not get on.) The goat propels Pongo through the Rodeo sign - goat laughs. Pongo emerges seeing stars, he has an idea. He will practice his lassoing skills on the goat. He throws his rope up in the air and lassos the goat. The goat runs off pulling Pongo with him. Pongo bashes into a post with a globe on top. He sees more stars. He pulls the pole out of the ground and has a temper tantrum. He takes of his "jacket" and puts up his dukes. He punches into the air in a boxer style. The goat comes running at him and Pongo thumps him. The goat doesn't see stars, but a scrawny bird singing and then a bell ringing. Pongo does a referee count. The goat jumps up and bucks like a wild horse, knocking Pongo all over the place. We see now that they are in front of the Canadian Pavilion at the Wembley Exhibition. Goat headbutts Pongo and he comes flying towards the camera until he splatters into it! (Very funny!) Animated explosion, star-bursts etc. Pongo flies to earth and splatters on the ground. He notices a sign which reads: "Bill the Basher challenges all comers to twenty rounds." Pongo announces: "I'll just get my hand in on that chap." Pongo speaks to the fat doorman explaining that he hasn't got the entrance fee. Pongo hits himself on the head with a hammer until he has an idea. He pulls out a bottle of "Reducus - a jar in every jar." The doorman sniffs the air then downs whatever is in the bottle. (Comedy movement in his big stomach as it goes down.) The doorman goes all wobbly - drunk presumably. He collapses into a pile of clothes which Pongo gives a good kick. Doorman's tiny head peeks out of his shoes which are the only thing left behind. Interior of the boxing tent. Two men prepare to fight - one man looks pretty puny, his knees knock together. Bill the Basher knocks him clean out of the ring. In steps Pongo and kicks Bill in the pants while he is laughing to himself. Pongo punches Bill on the butt for a while to no avail. He then jumps up with his legs around Bill's neck and delivers a few right hooks to the jaw. Pongo delivers a few blows to Bill's head using his feet. Bill opens his boxing shorts in front of him and Pongo falls in. He moves around inside the shorts a bit. Bill delivers one uppercut which sends Pongo flying out of the ring. We see the exterior of the boxing tent. Pongo's momentum stretches a big point in the tent canvas. He then bounces back inside. The moon has a good laugh about it. Pongo lands back in the ring. He gives himself the umpire's count. He pulls himself together and a big punch-up ensues. This is shown through batman style exploding shapes and words such as: "OUCH!" "WOW!" and "HELP!" flashing up on screen. We then see Pongo standing in the middle of the boxing ring with debris all around him - boxing gloves, bits of body, planks of smashed wood. He's obviously beaten up everyone in the tent! He smokes a cigar and looks very pleased with himself. He pulls a clock out of his "pocket" and looks alarmed at the time. He says: "Now where's that blinkin' goat?" Intertitle reads: "But, how he gets his goat is another Pongo story....!"
