| Description: | Shaky, blurry and dull in contrast and imagery This is the 1949 Asbestos Strike and they were striking for the weight of laws designed to alleviate human suffering. The protesters focused on the export of hazardous substances, worker health and safety, labor union issues and the environment. On February 14, 1949, 5,000 miners in Asbestos and Thetford, Quebec began an illegal strike for better wages and working conditions against their American-owned company. People are protesting with picket signs; "Travail indentique" "Justice pour nos maitres" and amidst all this there are children in the street's playing street hockey. | |
