In times of peril Old Glory and The Red Cross Banner belong together and together they now stand, and I know the reasons why. The Red Cross is virtually indispensable in these curtail days, mercy is its business in normal times but now it is increasing its responsibilities the Red Cross is gearing for it most vital drive in its long history. You can help mobilize the forces of mercy for the protection and defense of your families, community and of the nation. There just a few of unprecedented tasks the Red Cross has been asked to perform. Helping to meet our civilian defense needs. Red Cross must train 20 million first aiders, one million home nurses and two hundred and fifty thousand nurses aids to assist in hospitals. Providing life saving blood to our wounded, blood saves lives. The Red Cross is preparing to supply blood to sufficiently to civilian and emergency needs. Expanding its services to our armed forces to the wounded in military hospitals and millions of men and woman in uniforms the Red Cross is providing invaluable aid to the fighting forces. The month of March is proclaimed by the President of the United States - Red Cross month. You can help the Red Cross, help America of all the things we hold so dearly by being generous to your local chapter. We need this Red Cross symbol and now it needs us. So friends let us all answer this humanitarian call put upon us. Includes lots of good shots of blood drive. | |
