	Description:	QUEEN VICTORIA AT GARDEN PARTY Queen Victoria arrives at a garden party to meet guests. Presumably Buckingham Palace, London. Royalty. Rare footage of Queen Victoria attending a garden party on June 28; 1897. Fashionably attired elegant Victorian crowd standing about on lawn: ladies in lacy white or pastel dresses carrying parasols; elderly ladies in yards and yards of black fabric; holding little fans; etc. Open carriage pulls up carrying royals: Queen Victoria and the Princess of Wales (Alexandra of Denmark; later Queen Alexandra). Alexandra descends. Victoria sits there under her parasol; wearing a puffy sort of bonnet. A young man (a Prince?) takes the parasol. Queen Victoria is helped out of the carriage by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) and someone else; they exit left; the Princess of Wales follows. Various royals inc. the Duke of York (later George V) pass by to left; in front of upper-class crowd watching. More shots of crowd at the event. Then entire film repeats- -maybe one neg; one pos. *(Film is in slow-motion; it was filmed at 16 fps then adapted to play at 24 fps by means of repeating every 3rd frame; which is why it appears to be rather jerky. Now re-transferred to 16; which makes it slowed down. Actually all this adds a sort of surreal quality.)
