| Description: | 04:17:37:- high angle MS of a small stream feeding through a patch of dry grass then into a larger body of water. For some reason it just looks peculiar. Cut to high angle MS of Andy the field producer and Mike Lukas the TV host and comedian talking to two unidentified men. They stand on a hill overlooking the creek. Cut to high angle MS of the water as it gurgles and seems to boil; zoom in to CU of the murky, shallow ripples. Cool, but wierd. One of the unidentified men kneels by the lip and sticks a stick into the dirtbed. Tight LS's of the scenic, sunny area. MS's and CU's of Mike and crew getting ready to descend to the quicksand area, Mike being his usual quippy self. 04:22:28:- CU of a gurgle bubble rippling in the middle of the pit. Pan right to a larger, watery, bubbling area. Cut to MS of Mike and an unidentified man giving a science demonstration as to how quicksand works. CU as well. Two take of this as they stand near the pit, talking about it as well. Tilt down to CU of Mike's feet already sinking into the quicksand... and the more he struggles the more he sinks. Pan right to the sound man suddenly asking for help as he too starts to sink, passing the DL-42 microphone to the cameraman (good MS of him smiling and sticking the mic into the camera lens) while a man in the clear offers a hook to help him out. CU of the mud up to his mid-shin. Cut to MS of Mike talking to Tim, a hydrogeologist for the University of Nebraska, by the pit. They talk about the quicksand phenomenon and why it would be out in the no man's land of Nebraska. | |
