| Description: | Red Fair Opens In New York The Soviet exhibition of science, technology and culture opens in the coliseum, an impressive panorama of Soviet advances in many fields topped off by scale models of the Red space satellites. Frol R. Kozlov, number 3 main in the Kremlin, flies in, setting a non-stop record from Moscow, aboard a new Soviet turbo-prop, the world's largest commercial airliner. Climaxing the eventful day is an impromptu visit by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to greet Kozlov and see the show. Men deplane at airport, one man waves his hat to crowd. Press photographers take aim. Building with U.S. flag and U.S.S.R. flag hanging. Crowd behind "police line do not cross" barrier. Eisenhower enters building, shakes hands with man (Kozlov?). Large crowds walk among the exhibits. Richard Nixon is seen in at least one shot. | |
