At the start Johnny John breaks far from the outside and sprints into the lead. Daring attempt to steel the race that ended at the 3-8 pole in a collision with Bold Ruler that knocked both favorite and Outsider out of contention. But its a thriller for the 40,000 on hand. In the stretch Federal Hill, Borazon and Amarillo battle it out neck and neck. Its Partisan by a nose. Winner of $200,000 quite a bouquet from Garden Stake.
