Digger in quarry loads trucks with rock. More shots of men building roads. A bulldozer is used to move sand. More shots of digging machinery. Shots of a steam roller at work on a street. Men at work with pickaxes and machines. The roads are being built as part of the American New Deal - the NRA or National Recovery Act. Late 1930s. Great sequences showing the technology used to build roads in the late 30's. Shots of men loading pack mules and walking up hillside with picks. Hillside is riddled with burned tree trunks.
