CU Man's hands with model lorry he is adjusting braking apparatus. CU Man's face. LS Man releases his lorry down platform. He comes in picks up lorry and takes it back to top of chute. CU Man's hand as he places lorry on chute and releases it. MS Lorry running down chute to the platform where it starts to spin. BCU Lorry skidding. MS Two men and a bicycle and sidecar. One of the men is adjusting the wheel for the 20 degree angle. He walks round to the back of the bicycle and pulls it back. CU Man pulling bicycle back showing how the wheel moves over to 20 degrees. The man walks round to the wheel and tightens it up. MS Man goes round to cycle and gets onto it at the same time opening a box on the back. CU A man taking an instrument out of a box and adjusting the device which shows the slipperiness of the road surfaces. CU The device. CU Man's face as he nods O.K. to the driver. MS As the bicycle moves off on the test and goes up the roadway from the camera. MS The motorbike following the camera car. BCU The measuring apparatus. Multiwheel device for recording the bumpiness of road surfaces it is being pulled along by one man while another is looking at the apparatus inside it. BCU Man looking at apparatus pan round to show this apparatus. BCU Wheels going along the road pan up to show the man pulling the machine along. MS Man with a cycle brake testing rig. BCU The wheels spinning as water is being poured over it. CU Dials showing the speed reaction when the brakes are applied. MS A man applying the brakes to stop the wheel. CU Dial showing reaction. CU Windscreen test - a man smashes a windscreen it does not break but splinters. The man puts his first through the screen and breaks it but does not get cut. BCU Jagged edge of frame pan across to show the splintered glass in CU MS Man with model car about to demonstrate the lack of tire adhesion when on a wet surface. He places the car on a model road and winds the road up to 1 in 4 gradient. The model car runs easily up the gradient to the top. The man puts a wet sponge onto the road surface and the little car runs backwards down the hill. CU Makes the wet road on the machine go slowly and the little car goes unsteadily up at first and then grips and goes to the top. (Eastman Neg.)
