M/S of a row of model heads on a shelf, the room has bright red walls. The Danish actress Lillemore Knudsen comes over and examines them. C/U of her hands turning one of the statues round, the camera pans over to the next one. M/S of Lillemore walking down the stairs to another red room, waiting for her is George MacDonald Reid. She sits down in a chair, M/S of George adjusting a rubber disc suspended from the ceiling, he places it on her head and takes off her earrings. M/S of Lillemore sat on the chair. M/S of George opening a little door in the red wall behind which is a camera. M/S as he walks to the side, there is also a camera on the sideboard. C/U of him turning the controls on the side of the table to operate the camera. M/S of the chair rotating. Various shots of Lillemore and the camera. M/S of George as he goes behind a curtain, Lillemore gets up from the chair. M/S of her looking at another bust on a shelf and some more on a table. M/S of a projector, George laces up the projector with the film. C/U of the projector as he slots some pieces into place, M/S of George and the projector. M/S of George going over to a screen and turning a wheel. C/U of the screen and the outline of an image being traced out by a pointer. The narrator tells us this is how the statues are made, 300 photographs are taken of the subject and then each one is projected onto the screen and traced out. The pointer is connected to a cutting needle which carves the plaster. M/S of the needle cutting through the plaster. C/U of George's hand turning a little wheel, C/U of his face. C/U of the pointer tracing the image. M/S profile of George working. M/S of the needle in the plaster, his hand touches the needle. Various shots of George and this process, various shots of the statue taking shape. M/S George takes the finished statue and places it on a table. He puts on an apron and starts to paint it, C/U of his face and C/U of the statue. He takes his apron off, smoothes his hair down and bends to look at the statue. He picks it up and carries it off. M/S as he comes back through the curtains to show it to Lillemore who sits down and takes it from him. C/U of Lillemore looking at the statue of herself.
