| Description: | Pre-Lenten festivities come to a climax in Cologne, West Germany, with the traditional "Rosenmontag" or "Rose Monday" parade. The procession includes bright costumes, bands, floats and is the last frenzied merrymaking preceding the somberness of Lent.
