| Description: | Royal Visit To Textile Industrial Centres - King George V and Queen Mary. Lancashire? General view of large crowds of people in a factory courtyard, watching as the King and Queen walk by with entourage (including several military officers). The Royals smile and wave and chat to a few people. M/S of the King and Queen shaking hands with a small line of people outside a flag-decked building. M/S of the Royal couple riding with other officials on a 'Phoenix' vehicle - looks like it is normally loaded with bales of fabric. They drive past crowds who wave and cheer. The Queen cuts a ribbon to open a new building and she and the King go inside with officials. Cut to city street where huge crowds stand around a large memorial and watch the King and Queen being greeted by officials (some military, again) on the steps of a building after getting out of their car. They all walk up the steps. Pan across crowds of children waving Union Jack Flags. In the grounds of a military hospital the King pins medals on a soldier with one leg and a nurse while crowds of others watch. Cut back to city street as crowds cheer and wave the Royal car as it drives off. | |
