| Description: | "Another filmmaking effort to tell the story of Soviet Jews. This one deals with the subject of emigration to Israel, with one couple who chose to go, notwithstanding contrary advice from a grownup daughter. Experiences completely disillusioning, they felt they had made a tragic mistake; they asked for permission to return. They talked not alone of their own unhappiness in Israel but of the unhappiness of many they had met. Of denial of equal rights with other citizens, of antipathies engendered between people of different nationalities. Commentary includes criticism of Israel, its resort to military adventures, supported by U.S. imperialism; an answer to charges that opposition to Zionism is in effect anti-semitic. The positive account of Jewish writers published in many languages and of the Moldavian Jewish theatre."
