Prahova Valley, Bucharest - Rumania. M/S of a group of girls dancing, they are twirling round under each others arms. They all join hands and dance round in a circle, they are wearing traditional Rumanian red and white costumes with white scarves round their heads, C/U as the girls dance past the camera. There are other girls stood on the balcony of the cottage behind them, there are lots of flowers in front of the cottage. M/S as they break the circle and swing each other round. C/U of a man playing an accordion, a woman is stood next to him watching the dancing. Everyone is laughing and looks very happy, C/U of the girls dancing and spinning each other round. The narrator tells us that we are in Rumania and they are dancing a local folk dance called 'Breaza'. Various shots of the girls dancing. C/U of two girls standing on the side, one of them clicks her fingers in the air to the music. M/S as the girls dance. M/S of three women standing on the balcony smiling, there are lot of red flowers in front of them. L/S of the girls dancing round in a circle. L/S of three girls sat in the garden in front of another cottage, they are sewing. C/U of one of the girls sewing, the camera pans down to show the blue and white garment she is working on. M/S of another girl as she stitches. C/U of her hands stitching a red pattern on to a white blouse. The narrator tells us this is a school for embroidery where they learn to stitch the traditional Muscel blouses. L/S of a girl with plaits sat on the veranda of a house, she is hand weaving a red, black and white carpet on a large frame. M/S to reveal another woman sat next to her also working on the carpet. C/U from behind the first girl as she weaves the threads through and pushes them down with a fork. C/U of her face as she works, the narrator says the carpet pattern is called 'Oltenia' after a region of the country. C/U of her hands weaving the thread.
