M/S of a group of four men standing round a table outdoors. They are Dr Webb who is in charge of the test; Mr Montgomery, works manager; and Dave Shackman, technical sales manager. They are looking at various slides, C/U of slides and transparencies being put away in a box which contains other documents and microfilm. The box is taken off the table. M/S of Dr Webb putting the box in the safe, it is also full of other papers and documents. He takes three pound notes from the table and there is a C/U of them being attached to a bulldog clip inside the safe. M/S of Dr Webb shutting the safe door. M/S interior of a man in a white coat lighting the end of a long stick, he reaches up and lights a furnace with it, flames shoot out of one of the holes. M/S of a man winding a handle and the safe moving along, M/S of another man tightening a small wheel. C/U of a man adjusting plugs. M/S of another man checking a row of gas cylinders, C/U of his hand turning the top of one of the cylinders. M/S of a man slowly pulling down a lever on the furnace, M/S of two men studying temperature and pressure gauges. They are Eric Minton, Assistant Work's Manager and Gerry Ranger, Chief Draughtsman, C/U of a round pressure gauge. C/U of the face of one of the men as he studies the dials and C/U of him writing with a fountain pen on a chart. M/S of Cyril Bassham, Maintenance Engineer, peering through a hole into the furnace. Shot of the inside of the furnace from the point of view of the peephole, it is glowing red. M/S of a group of men waiting outside, one of them looks at his wristwatch. C/U of the watch. C/U of his face. M/S of men manoeuvring the safe out of the furnace. The men around it are wearing protective masks. L/S of the safe on a trolley being wheeled out of the furnace towards a red crane. M/S of the crane driver, the camera pans across to the safe looking burnt and blistered from the furnace, but still intact, there are also chains round it. C/U of two men chatting. L/S of the safe being hoisted into the air by the crane, the trolley is moved away. M/S of a group of men watching as the safe is lifted. C/U of the face of one of the men watching. The camera is looking up to where the safe is hanging on the crane, the safe is released and the camera follows it as it drops onto a pile of bricks in a large square box causing clouds of dust. C/U of a man putting his protective hat and mask on and adjusting his gloves, he walks out of the frame. C/U of another man watching. L/S of a forklift truck which the safe has been placed on. A man in a protective mask is driving it and another man is looking underneath. C/U of the driver in his mask turning the steering wheel. C/U of a couple of men with moustaches in the crowd chatting. L/S of a man with a hose pipe which he turns on the safe, it starts to steam. M/S of the man with the hose pipe. C/U of the battered safe being hit with the water creating clouds of steam. L/S of the safe being hosed from a different angle. M/S of the crowd watching. L/S shot from above of the safe door being prised open, as the handle had melted in the test. The crowd stand round watching. M/S of two men in white coats with the crowbar trying to open the door. L/S of the door being opened, everything is intact. M/S of Dr Webb and Len West. C/U of the three pound notes from inside the safe looking as good as new.
