| Description: | SAFETY PETROL will reduce risk of fire on airplanes. New Fireproof Safety Airplane Fuel United Kingdom MS 2 men under wing of airplane, pouring in fuel. LS uniformed man walking from plane toward camera; in front of plane a worker stands beside what looks like a barbecue grill. Title says that "a red-hot iron fails to ignite the new fuel, but has different results with the petrol." MCU officer pouring the gasoline into a bucket. MS the officer takes a hot iron bar off the grill and sticks it into bucket, and flames spring out. He sticks it into another bucket and, voila, more flames. The next experiment works. MCU rags on ground, one soaked in regular gas, one in the new kind. The officer sticks a match at one of the rags w/ no result. But the other one bursts into flames. He picks up the burning rag w/ a pair of pliers and dips it into the new fuel - which actually puts out the fire. They conduct another experiment, w/ the 2 kinds of fuel in tin cans on the ground; the officer holds a wire to each to see if a spark will ignite the old and new fuels. Presumably the one that catches fire is the old kind. MS "grill" w/ flames of c. 1' - 2' high wildly burning; the officer dips his hand in the bucket of New Fuel and sticks the hand into the flames. Ends w/ shots of plane's departure for a safe journey with the new fuel. Shot of airplane's propeller starting; glimpse of worker below who started it. LS airplane (the "Ile de France") turning around. WS plane taking off. Plane flying over. | |
