Various shots of salt which has been brought from the pits on lorries, transferred to conveyer belt, from there poured from crane onto huge mound of salt. Good shots of a ferry. Various shots, as passengers leave, among them many women all carrying baskets and cases of salt. These women come from the small town of Bagnara, and they are smuggling the salt in. They are not charged as the it would cost too much, and it is easier to let them get away with the little salt they do. The shots show the women running away from the camera, and hiding their faces so as to be recognised. | |
