Years ago this brook was absolutely alive with fish but now owing to this pollution there is practically none at all". CU. Fish floating on water (dubbed scene). GV. The Duke replies: "Yes, the fishing is quite good and is becoming increasingly popular". SV. The Duke speaking: "Of course, one must realise that so many rivers are being spoilt by pollution and water extraction". CU. Duke speaking: "Our association cannot fight this modern scourge entirely on its own - the problem goes far wider than the question of fishing and amenities on the banks, there is the problem of the health of our people". Colin Farman squatting down on river bank fishing. Bill Symon comes into picture, sits alongside and asks question (natural sound): "Caught anything?". Colin replies: "Nay, there's nowt here lad". Symon saying: "Then why are you fishing?" Colin replies: "Well now suppose I stay at home, have to do gardening, look at TV and listen to the misses. Hell of a life". Bill Symon points and says: "Now, just look at this then". LV. Two men fishing for salmon in a boat on river. CU. Fishermen in boat winding in line. CU. Salmon trying to escape from line on surface of water. Background voice: "Ee, that's somut like fishing". SV. The two fishermen in boat pulling in large salmon. Background voice: "It is, and but for river pollution our streams could be just as good". CU. Colin Farman looking across river. SV. Fisherman in boat manhandling the salmon after he had caught it. LV. The other fisherman stands up in boat and throws salmon back into the river. CU. Colin looking across river, he turns to interviewer and says: "I can hardly believe it".
