| Description: | SCHOOL BANK Secondary school pupils learn about finances by setting up their own bank and printing their own cheques. Longfield, Kent. Students at this modern state school learn about finances in the real world by setting up their own bank. M/S of two school boys, one is leaning against a wall to write a cheque which he goes on to exchange with the other boy for a pair of football boots. M/S of two schoolgirls - one writes a cheque for the other's hockey stick. C/U of an antiquated printing press, tilt up to show a teacher and two school boys. Various shots of the teacher feeding bits of paper into the press to make the cheque books. M/S of a school girl taking a cheque to a girl and two boys behind a counter. One boy takes the cheque to a file to check the girl's current account details. The girl's cheque is seen being stamped and the girl is given her money, behind her a queue of school children wait to be served. M/S of a girl standing in front of a notice board, she is joined by a school boy. Various C/Us of notices, some hand made, advertising the bank's services. C/U of glacier cherries being added to a sponge cake, a girl picks up the cake and takes it over to her teacher, who assesses the cake. The girl gives the teacher a cheque - presumably this is for ingredients and not a bribe for a good mark! M/S of two boys sanding a wooden 'Wendy' house, panning shot around the workshop to show other boys at work. M/S of a teacher in a white coat looking at a foot stool made by a student, he writes in his mark book. The student, a teenage boy, writes the teacher a cheque to buy the stool. | |
