| Description: | SCHOOLGIRL'S VISIT TO EGYPT. A young European girl (blonde, c. age 10?) sightseeing in Egypt accompanied by an Egyptian guide; they visit the pyramids, Sphinx, Citadel fortress & Muhammad Ali mosque. (Includes shots of these things without the girl & guide.) Egypt M/S of a small girl in school uniform, Gay (Gaye?) Ashwood, walking across the airport tarmac to a Swissair plane; she is accompanied by an air hostess, a crowd of other passengers follow, and there seems to be a large crowd of people gathered on the observation terrace of the airport (probably in Switzerland; this story follows on immediately from CP 056 'St Moritz' story). Nice M/Ss and C/Us of the passengers showing their tickets to a hostess and boarding the plane. M/Ss from the observation terrace as spectators look out towards planes being loaded with luggage; the Swissair plane is seen taxiing for takeoff. C/U of Gay in her seat on the plane, looking out of the window and talking to the air hostess. Commentator tells us in a few hours she will be in Egypt. LS pyramids; camels walk into picture; Egyptian man, her guide Sammy, (wearing long white robe w/ long blue coat , and red fez) on one and a small girl (in jeans & t-shirt with scarf tied on her head) on the other which is led by another man; pan rt. to another pyramid. Low angle MS guide talking pan to girl ; they are both still sitting on camels. MLS camels kneel and the riders dismount; guide takes girl by the hand and they walk off to r. LS guide and child walking across sand, away from cam. MS camel driver sits down beside camels. GV the Sphinx, with pyramids in BG; robed Egyptian man on camel goes trotting by. MCU guide and girl walking toward Sphinx; pan up to Sphinx. CU guide talks to girl. Low angle CU of Sphinx. MS the guide and the young girl walking around ruins of temple beside Sphinx. GV p an on cliff; narrator says this is quarry from which stones for pyramids were cut. MLS guide and child walk past ; quarry in BG. GV ancient walls of Citadel; can see top of Muhammad Ali mosque inside . LS pan on walls of the Citadel fortress. Low angle MS minaret & dome. MCU girl and guide standing outside mosque; pan down to her feet having slippers tied on to enter the Mosque; another man is putting slippers on the guide's feet. CU Girl's face looking downward smiling. CU Egyptian man gestures to child to walk into mosque. MS Egyptian guide and small child enter in mosque. LS Egyptians guide and small child walking hand in hand across courtyard in mosque. Low angle shot showing detail of wall, and one of the minarets at rt. MLS child and guide in courtyard; he is pointing upward and telling her about mosque. MCU 2 Egyptian Muslim men washing, preparing to enter mosque; they squat beside faucets which are on an ornate stone tank(?) with a narrow trough round it.
