| Description: | SEALING WAX STUNTS 2 different home craft projects. Craft demonstration showing how to decorate various things with melted sealing wax. "Eve can work wonders with a little sealing-wax - and imagination! For instance, this plain glass vase - " MCUs woman decorating a glass vase with sealing wax. C/U of woman melting a stick of sealing wax over a burner then paints it onto the glass. The wax is then heated again and another contrasting colour is added. "The heat works the wax into odd designs..." The wax is heated over the flame. She paints on the wax then turns the vase over a thing like a fancy bunsen burner, which swirls the wax around creating a sort of marblized effect. "Finished - and all within 30 minutes." She turns the vase around to show the finished objet d'art. Vase is shown to the camera - very nice! We are then shown how to make smart lampshades with crepe paper. MS Woman creating decorative lampshade with crepe paper stretched over wire. M/S of a woman sitting at a table cutting up sheets of crepe paper. She folds the paper and stretches it. She paints glue onto a wire frame then sticks the paper over it. CU she glues paper to circle of wire then cuts round edges. "Your design may be original, or you may cut out anything suitable. This one happened to be from a paper serviette." C/U of the shade with designs being stuck on. CU she adds cut out black silhouettes to the white circles. "Suitably coloured wax is melted in denatured alcohol...:" CU she puts pieces of wax in a small jar, then pours in liquid from a bottle labelled "Alcohol". C/U of alcohol being poured into small jar. This produces a quickly drying wax paint. Paint is stirred in the jar. CU she removes lid from jar of dark paint, sticks brush in. MCU she paints both sides of the crepe paper with the solution. Both sides of the lampshade are painted with the wax. "And when it is dried, you have a lampshade fit for any home!" M/S of lampshade with the bulb lit. MS lampshade on lamp with light shining through; the lampshade is comprised of 4 of the decorated circles around the sides of the lamp. | |
