London Various shots of 10-year-old deaf Chinese boy Lee Man Sung from Hong Kong arriving at London Airport and walking from the Britannia aeroplane with his teacher. Restaurant owner Robert John Koon, accompanied by one of his waiters greets Lee Man Sung and presents him with a small puppy. Mr Koon paid the fare to bring the boy over from China. Interior shots at The Royal Society of Arts prize-giving ceremony show several different paintings hanging on wall. They were sent from deaf children all over the world for a competition. C/U Lee Man Sung's prize-winning painting. Lee (in traditional Chinese clothes) stands with 13-year-old Londoner Lilian (Lillian?) Walsh who won first prize in her class and tied with Lee Man Sung for the best overall picture. They pose with Sir Alfred Bossom, Chairman of the Royal Society of Arts, and discuss their pictures. C/U of Lilian's painting. Lee and Lilian receive their prizes from Sir Alfred as the audience applaud. Lee presents Mr Koon with one of his paintings in thanks for his trip over here. They shake hands and Koon undoes the rolled up picture. | |
