Gilbert Harding is introducing Mrs P from the plane we hear voiceovers transmitted from the BBC Studio. SCU CU Lesley Piddington seated in stratocruiser. CU Lesley Piddington seated in stratocruiser. She speaks. 'Food something about food it's a ration book. It's something like a ration book just one piece of - it's an emergency card. Some of the things have been cut out. If you concentrate on the rations that have been left in I'll try and get them. Milk eggs cheesemeat.' MS People in 'plane listening. MS Gilbert Harding speaking into mike in 'plane: 'Hello we're still here Stephen Grenfell and Sydney Piddington. She's looking a little exhausted after the last effort and we're ready for you again under exactly the same conditions'. (Pan to Lesley Piddington). Sydney Piddington's voice: 'And now Miss Young will you and Mr. Williams come over to this mcirophone here.' Gilbert Harding: 'Will you stand by Mrs. Piddington again please? We're ready for you.' CU Lesley Piddington: 'Concentrate again won't you Sydney? It's not words this time. It's a drawing a pattern a draughtboard it's on paper someone's giving a crossword puzzle. It's half filled in. They haven't got all the words. You want me to give the words there are. Right concentrate on the first one will you?. CU Lesley Piddington looking round. Sydney's voice: '....explain to our listening audience and also for our studio audience explain what it is and what the words were. I think Lesley was completely wrong in one a word which I can't read or understand myself. Would you explain it please?' (Pan to Gilbert Harding). Hugh Hugh Williams speaking: 'Well ladies and gentlemen I take rather longer doing my crossword puzzles but the first word was 'shuffle' and 'cut' 'Curtain' was right.... 'Anything to say?' 'Only thanks very much everyone and you're the judge'. 'Well alright I'm baffled and now back to Sydney Piddington in Piccadilly'. CU Jean Gordon the stewardess on the 'plane with earphones on. CU Two engineers listening. MS The judges in the studio. Gladys Young Derrick de Marney Dudley Perkins and Ian Messiter. CU Gladys Young. Sydney Piddington's voice: 'Would you read out what is written down on the piece of paper that you hold? CU Man in audience. MS People in audience. CU Woman in audience. MS Derrick de Marney collecting envelopes from audience. LS Elevated platform. CU Hugh Williams pan down to his hand holding crossword puzzle. SCU Hugh Williams and Piddington before mike.
