At Annapolis, pretty color girl (girl presenting flags) Helene Kidd dressed in southern belle gown and hat, presents the colors to the top brigade. Her fiance is in the group and gives her quite a kiss. The sailors doff their hats three times in three cheers. 517 Cadets receive their commissions at West Point, where it's 'hats off' to future generals. Cadets in dress uniform break ranks, run across a field. Then, graduation ceremony: cadets ranging from top in class to "anchor man" receive their diplomas. The men throw their hats into the air to celebrate. | |
