| Description: | SHAKE Great footage of slimming machines - group of chorus girls use electric vibrating belt devices. New slimming machines are used by the chorus girls from the Hippodrome. Starts w/ shot from above looking down at group of women, each with her own machine. The machines consist of a box on a pole, w/ a wide belt coming out from it in a loop. The user stands inside the belt, leaning away from the machine so that the belt is pulled taut; then when the machines are turned on a motor inside the box jiggles the belt back and forth - and also jiggles whatever part of the person is touching it. The premise seems to be that if one shakes the fat enough it will just fall off! The film consists of shots of the women getting various parts of their bodies shaken - their abdomens, shoulders, arms, thighs, etc. - a mixture of wide shots showing all the women and closer shots showing only a few. | |
