Description:SHELL MOTOR SPIRIT Animation which tells the story of an angry father chasing his daughter and her suitor.

First intertitle reads: "A spin and a spoon by the light of the moon." Man and a woman in an open topped car drive through the countryside. They kiss while he drives. "The happy pair - the harassed hare." A frightened hare runs along in front of the car. The car has its headlights shining. Another car approaches the camera, it stops and a fierce looking man stands up. It is, "Her father, Baron Flint-de-Flint." C/U of the Baron looking through a telescope and looking mean. He rolls his eye. Point of view shot through the telescope of what he sees. The man kissing his daughter. The Baron lowers his telescope and looks very, very annoyed. He drives after them. "Loves young dream becomes a nightmare." (Possibly a shot missing here.) "On every rise, "Every Drop Tells." The Baron rant and raves and points a gun at the young suitor. He puts his hands up. The Baron grabs his daughter by the scruff of the neck and dumps her into his car. He drives off towards the family home. The daughter stands on her balcony crying in silhouette. A duck flies along and lands in the lake that has appeared because of her tears (!) "Next bout - Cupid v. Flint-de-Flint." C/U of her boyfriend writing her a note. The cat, sitting on the balcony lets down his tail to pick up the note from the boyfriend. "The following night." The boyfriend whistles up to the window and the girlfriend slides down the cats tail to his embrace. The cat joins them in the car and they drive off. "The watchdog's wireless to the Baron." A fierce looking dog strains on its leash which is attached to a kennel. It barks and the Baron hears it and sees the couple trying to escape. C/U of him shouting then C/U of dog barking. C/U of a piece of holey cheese. A mouse appears from inside it. Baron stands on his balcony shouting. Suddenly lots of other heads appear from around the house. Garage door opens and the Baron drives out. "The blacksmith's dreams of beaucoup francs are rudely disturbed by the furious banging of the Baron without (without petrol)." Baron bangs on a window, eventually putting his fist through it. Blacksmith pokes his head out. An owl watches the proceedings. Blacksmith fills the Baron's car with petrol with a hand pump. "Backfires and Baronial explosions make even the owl blink." Baron tries to start the car with a crank handle. He eventually gets it going. "The blacksmith's 3-speed petrol - Slow, Dead-Slow, and Stop - does its deadly work as the hours slip by." Baron drives along - the car backfires. "New world's slow record - 10 yds an hour." More chugging along.
