| Description: | Sir Hugh Trenchard, recently appointed Air Chief Marshal,lays foundation stone of Church of St. Alphage. Hendon, Middlesex M/S of clergy in ceremonial gowns moving about in preparation for the ceremony. Sir Hugh waits by the wall where the foundation stone is set. A small child in best dress, looks like a sailors outfit, complete with hat, is led forward to hand a small trowel to Sir Hugh. A member of the clergy takes the small boy by the hand and leads him away. Sir Hugh cements in the stone and taps the stone with a hammer. He then faces the camera and is seen making a speech. | |
