| Description: | Entertainment. A bunch of guys dressed in muddy; ragged clothing put on a slapstick style comedy show on the beach & in the water; as part of a regatta at Southend. The entertainers do a lot of fake fighting and falling down in the sand or mud. Interesting crowd shot at 01.19.22.00; pan on crowd standing on beach; many looking at the entertainers who are having a fight in BG; but several people in the front are looking upward. Several of the "clowns" get into 1 rowboat and most fall out. CU 2 on a raft; getting into a fight. Contest in which they each slide as far as possible out on a greased pole over the water w/o falling in. CU's some of the entertainers; surrounded by some of audience; mostly kids. Another good crowd shot; panning on crowd in bleacher seats; all staring ahead of them intently; some laughing. One of the guys sitting amidst a circle of children. Bizarre; silly; wacky; strange; funny. | |
