Australia Cracking the Australian Stock Whip - demonstration of skill incl.various stunts involving brave volunteers. MS middle aged man holding whip; younger man comes up carrying a selection of several other whips and the guy trades his for one of them. LS same, also 3 ladies in summer dresses standing in BG rt.; young guy steps back off-cam. The whip man starts swinging his arm around. MS he swings his "whip arm" back and forth like a fast pendulum and in the process throwing his whole torso back and forth. I guess it's because the whip is so long that it takes all this violent movement to crack it. Shot from just LS same; the ladies watch in BG. They look pretty placid considering their proximity to the whip. Behind the young guy who stands holding a small envelope out to the side; the whip man stands a few yards away and with a crack of the whip he cuts the envelope in two, leaving only a tiny bit in the guy's hand. Then he whips that bit out. LS showing all of both men: the whip cracker whips a pistol out of the young man's hand. Then he swings the whip again and somehow catches the guy round the ankles and knocks him down. MS young man stands in FG, blindfolded, w/ cigar in mouth. The other guy of course, cuts the cigar in 2 w/ the wicked whip. Next, MS one woman blindfolds another (a pretty girl in a filmy flowered frock). She stands facing away toward the whip man who crouches in a menacing position, then swings his whip so that the end of it wraps around her throat like a collar. She turns to camera, smiling while he comes over and removes the whip from her neck. | |
