| Description: | SOME CHICKEN - SOME NECK - MR CHURCHILL AT OTTAWA Winston Churchill addresses the Canadian Parliament at Ottawa. Ottawa, Canada. Members of the Canadian Parliament stand to cheer Prime Minister Winston Churchill. He starts off by telling that in a few months the Canadian Army may well be engaged in one of the most frightful battles the world has ever seen. He says "Hitler and his Nazi gang have sown the wind, let them reap the whirlwind." He tells of his recent meeting with President Roosevelt (applause). He says the military leaders of France were misled by their generals at the time of the French collapse, telling that "When I warned them that Britain would fight on alone, whatever they did, their generals told their Prime Minister and his divided cabinet, "In three weeks England will have her neck wrung like a chicken". Some chicken (huge cheers). Some neck!" (more cheers and applause). | |
