| Description: | See also catalog # 252562 "St Patrick's Day". Caterham, Surrey. Various shots of Irish Guards on the parade ground at Caterham being presented with shamrocks on St Patrick's Day by Colonel Fitzgerald, acting on behalf of their Colonel in Chief, the Princess Royal (Princess Mary). Each soldier takes a shamrock and places it in his hat, then they give three cheers for the Princess Royal. A small group of children look on. London. At the Royal Albert Hall we see an audience in evening dress listening to a choir (?) singing a traditional Irish song. Then we see young girls doing Irish dancing to traditional music, and a parade by people in costumes from around the world. The whole audience seems to join in a huge Irish jig on the main floor at the end. Note: some of this footage appears in ST PATRICK'S DAY AND NIGHT in same issue, without soundtrack.
