| Description: | STAGE FOLK OFF STAGE Popular British performers make appearances at a fair where the various actors and actresses have their own booths or tents featuring various contests etc. Shot looking over crowd swarming outside tents at a big fair; man at right stands on platform talking, punctuating his speech w/ bangs on a bass drum. Shot of a clearing on fairgrounds: Jack Payne sort of dancing, moving around a bit to music of a brass band; chorus girls in checked shirts and cut off overalls dance about madly while crowd stands around edge of clearing; big old-fashioned carousel in BG. Next, MLS man twirling lasso stands facing away while row of others in cowboy attire stand behind facing him. Suddenly he sticks out his rear and lands the rope around it! MS Miss Alma Pickard & Mr. Cedric Parkwick stand behind display of roses, each holding a flower. MLS Miss Fay Compton and a few men stand at gates of "Miss Fay Compton's Dishonoured House" where signs advertise both Booth's Gin and F.C.'s Elixir of Life. MCU Compton talking an laughing. LS group of men and women on a stage at Miss Marjorie Gordon's "Chuckapenny" game; they are calling out to potential players, picking up pennies, etc. MCU Miss Gordon talking and laughing while doing this. MLS people standing behind fence throwing pennies. MLS Adrienne Brune & group of men standing on carousel. Wider shot of same; Brune stsnds along the platform round the edge of carousel while it is turning; MS Heather Thatcher playing drum kit in a small combo; Leslie Henson gives encouragement and "helps" by grabbing her hand making her play off beat. Dissolve to shot of same, but now Henson seems to be fishing from the bandstand. He catches a bottle, everyone laughs. MCU Tallulah Bankhead stands chatting w/ fans on other side of a fence; she bends down and takes a bite of a little girl's cookie while the girl's mother laughs, unafraid of celebrity germs. MCU 3 smiling young women (incl. Peggy Wood) in identical flowered filmy flowing frocks, shouting out something while holding out dessert plates toward camera.
