"Meet the girls, full of pep and pirouettes!' M/S of a group of girls in a garden, all wearing swimsuits. A man in a swimsuit instructs them as they leap about, doing high kicks, turning cartwheels and holding onto each other's waists while jigging about and yelping with happiness! '"Every dancer who complains of that tired feeling should try and emulate these 'Rivers' Girls - " said Santos Casani, the well-known dance Teacher.'M/S of Santos Casani, famous dance teacher, in his swimsuit, standing with the girls. He talks of an exercise that is very important in all branches of dancing and strengthens the back. He says "Come on little girls!" and the girls show us the movement in pairs; some of them lie on the grass and are bent over backwards between the legs of the girl standing over them. Santos demonstrates the same movement with a very supple girl whose head touches her toes; he turns and smiles at the camera. L/S of the girls lying on the grass by an ornamental pond, doing leg kicks as instructed by the first man. Santos walks about watching the dancers. The girls get up and do high kicks, turning around in groups of four (all to the tune of 'Happy Feet'). 'And now Vanda and Vladimer will show how it's done - ' The girls sit and watch as Vanda and Vladimer rehearse an apache-style dance, without music. Vanda wears a two-piece swimsuit and swim hat; Vladimer wears just trousers. | |
