Peter Chase, a lithographer, works with stone and ink to make his prints. He sprinkles grit over the limestone slab and takes it over to the press where he splashes the ink which seeps in. He treats it with nitric acid, gum turpentine and French chalk and adds the colour with a roller. Various shots as he puts paper over the top and puts the press down, he turns the cast iron handle.
