| Description: | Industrial film for Riddell helmets with microfit. Opens with a brutal montage of vintage NFL tackles & hits; several pro teams are represented, every hit as hard as the next. Helmets pop off, injured players are carried off the field. MS/CUs smooth middle aged man (nice sideburns) wearing suit and tie turning off a film projector, then moving to a convenient chalkboard to discuss jock algebra (kinetic foot pounds= athlete's weight divided by 10M speed time). MS several helmets and cleats on a table; CU man holding helmet, pointing out and discussing Riddell's features and benefits. The following are a few of the ensuing shots'....... testing department: a helmet is fitted onto a wooden head; a metal mallet swings from nowhere, striking the head (in MS); CU of a scientist opening the rear loading door of a camera, pulls out a photo that somehow shows the rate and force of the mallet's impact upon the helmet....... helmet factory montage (manufacturing, production, inventory)........MS of a team sporting equipment manager measuring a player's head in a phoney locker room; montage of proper helmet fitting (too high vs too low, air cell inflating to appropriate conditions, chin strapping, etc)........the man (narrator) goes back to the projector, shows animated diagrams of a car accident's impact upon the driver, football helmet features, how the two relate, Riddell helmets' protection benefits and how they work | |
