| Description: | SUN CULT Great footage of people enjoying the sun London and Hastings, East Sussex. Lovely film showing the pleasures of soaking up the sun. Begins with shots of large number of people enjoying a paddle in a river (possibly the Serpentine) and sunbathing. Sequence follows of a "lido" built under Holborn. Great shots of bathing belles having fun in their bathing suits. They frolic in a raised swimming pool, drink cocktails at a bar in their bikinis, use rowing machines, etc. Great shots of girls sitting in deckchairs under sunlamps drinking cocktails and smoking cigarettes. Presumably this is some kind of solarium. A variation on the health wheel is demonstrated. This is one that two people can use at the same time - an unusual exercise machine! A group of girls play "catch". Exterior shots of people at the Hastings lido. Bathing suit parade. Lots of gorgeous swimsuits and sun suits. Great hats, capes & beach trousers as well as swimsuits. L/S of the Lido ends the film. | |
