| Description: | SUPER KITCHENS Workers and machinery in kitchen of ocean liner "Narkunda". Chefs at work on board a liner using various labour saving devices. Man scooping milk powder into a big vat. CU top of vat; can see wheel turning with band around it. The man is adding cubes of butter. Pan down: milk running down corrugated surface to a trough at the bottom, and pouring into container. CU worker dumps basketful of potatos into machine. Fade to CU chopped potatos coming out of other end of machine. CU worker adding batter to a sort of super mixer. MS pan on workers in chef's hats chopping, slicing, etc. in cramped quarters; low ceiling, pipes in BG. MS head chef oversees as underchef stirs something in pot on stove. CU worker's hand opens door of oven, quickly pulls out tray to check if food is done, which it's not, because he shoves it back again. MS workers pulling trays of rolls out of oven. CU worker guiding loaf of bread through bread slicer, where a curved blade spins around and quickly slices the bread. CU worker puts slices of bread on toaster tray, pushes it in; he pulls another tray out to remove toast. CU pan down machine: worker is turning handle; at bottom the mixer is churning a big wire whisk around in a mixing bowl. MCU workers cutting and decorating pastry, arranging their delicious creations on trays. Waiters literally waiting at windows, to take trays of food. Closer shot of waiters carrying trays. Brief shot, w/ camera sticking out at side of boat, showing both ocean and some of the liner, with lifeboats above. | |
