| Description: | SUPERSTITIONS The Windmill Theatre girls explain some theatrical superstitions to a new girl. London. At the Windmill Theatre we see a new girl, Carole Logan, learning about some theatrical superstitions from the other showgirls. First of all we see Carol starting to knit while the other girls are rehearsing. She is told not to as it's bad luck. Another superstition is that you should never return to the dressing room to fetch something without sitting down and counting to ten - we see Carol demonstrating. Another girl places a threepenny piece in her shoe for good luck. In the dressing room Carol starts to write a telephone number on the mirror in greasepaint when she is stopped by one of the other girls because it is bad luck. Another girl, Joyce Jackson, enters the dressing room whistling and is told to go outside, shut the door, turn around three times, re-enter and swear. She does so (we don't see or hear her swear though!). | |
