| Description: | 'Sweep dreams!' London. On a set dressed to look like a living room a man sits in an armchair, reading, while his wife sweeps the floor with a vacuum cleaner. The man falls asleep and we see a montage of shots showing people cleaning roads, buildings, Crystal Palace and so on. Then the man starts dreaming of a giant vacuum cleaner - "large enough for taking Mother-in-law if she calls too often" - that his wife uses to clean the floor. Great shot of a woman pushing the huge vacuum. The noise from the machine is very loud. Quick cutting while the commentator shouts "I can't bear it, wake up! Wake up!". The man opens his eyes and sees his wife in pearls and an evening dress. He blinks and she is back in her plain dress, using a normal vacuum cleaner. Animation sequence shows burglar 'Bill Sykes' throwing a brick through a pawn shop window then using a powerful vacuum cleaner to suck all the goods out. The owner sticks his head out of the door with an alarmed expression. The police chase after Bill in a car with a suction machine attached - they suck him into it. We then see an animated idea for "the next war" - a super vacuum cleaning tank that sucks soldiers inside as it moves along. | |
