| Description: | SWORDS A look at how swords are made and assembled in Acton, London. MS Man removing transfer from a sword. CS. His face as he works. MS Transfer coming off showing design he wipes the sword with a piece of cloth and examines it closely. MS Another man hammering the design into the hilt of a sword which is clamped in the vice. There are other hilts on the bench. He picks up the magnifying glass and examines it closely. CS. Hilt as he examines it. E.R.II can be seen clearly with the crown up above. He begins to hammer again with a pointed instrument. MS CS. He finishes hammering and starts to play the flame of a bunsen burner over the metal. SCS. He removes the metal from the vice and places it down with the rest of the hilts on the bench. MS Another man picks up a hilt and starts beating it into a curved shape. (2 shots). SCS. Tray of highly polished 'sword attachments'. He picks up finished hilt and handle. MS Fastening the handle into the hilt. CS. Fastening the handle into the hilt but fastening it onto the sword and screwing it home. CS. His face. MS Gives the sword handle a final turn and removes it from the vice. Then takes the sword out of its protective cover places it in its sheath. CS. Four finished swords. | |
