| Description: | TEMPTATION! Children's carnival in Austria made slightly sinister by the presence of Nazi insignia Klosterneuberg, Austria. Several shots of the annual children's carnival in the town of Klosterneuberg on the River Danube. Couples in traditional costume dance about in the streets. Young boys jump along in a sack race and try to bite at large preztels that hang on strings above them. A boy walks along a log; there is a sausage hanging near his head, but he doesn't try to eat it. Girls in traditional dresses serve drinks from little stalls; small swastika pennants / flags are clearly seen hanging from the stalls. Boys have a jousting match, wearing big top hats that cover their faces; a young man wearing a Nazi armband assists them in the game. Several boys are seen eating away at the large 'temptation cake' - the tradition is that you keep on eating until you find the coin that is hidden inside. A blond boy holds up the cream-covered coin. | |
