| Description: | THE BRIDGE FELLOWS Construction of a giant suspension bridge - brave cameramen climb high for good shots. Wide shot panning on what looks like cables strung across the water. Closer shot: it turns out that the "cable" is actually flat tracks hanging, wide enough for workers to stand or walk around on. Pan up w/ elevator rising on cables next to one of the bridge's "legs". Closer shot of elevator, carrying 3 people. LS pan on unfinished bridge - photographer or cameraman setting up tripod, workers nailing along edge of "track". LS newsreel cameraman and still photographer shooting from part of the structure, while another guy squirms around and hangs from it in a precarious position. Very cool shot looking straight down at train passing below. LS 2 workers walk along the bridge dragging cable. Shot looking out toward steep hill covered w/ trees, where one end of unfinished bridge is held up by a tower which is barely distinguishable from the trees. Slowly pan down hill, tower, twin tracks of bridge stretching over water; a few workers on part of bridge nearest camera. Another shot from same angle as end of last one: now the hanging tracks of the bridge are rising before our eyes. | |
