This may be Saudi Arabia.) Every year a pilgrimage to the tomb of the Prophet Rubin (Reuben) takes place in Southern Palestine along the sandy dunes south of Jaffa. Tent city of Muslims on pilgrimage to tomb of the prophet Rubin. Line of camels walk along sand carrying people and supplies - incl. building materials; can see water in BG. Wide shot from above of makeshift city erected by the pilgrims. Shot from ground level: camels coming over a little bridge over a muddy stream; also in the stream someone seems to be scrubbing a sheep. 2 men wearing Palestinian headdresses shake hands; a young boy c. age 10 stands beside them; another man wearing a pointed hat comes up and greets them. MLS pan on people sitting on stools or pillows in large tent; at rt. 2 little boys stand by a Victrola. People walking along the "streets" of this temporary town of 20,000 to 30,000. MS 2 little boys stand looking at a tray of sweets at a food stall; pan left, 2 other boys shopping. MS man behind counter grinding spices w/ mortar and pestle; stacks of plates, pitchers, etc. on counter. MLS pan on more of the tent kitchen; one man is holding a baby, others are chopping or cooking food. MS man making flat round breads. 2 other men working in tent bakery, forming rounded breads or pastries; the other guy enters carrying tray of the flat breads. MCU man turning kebabs on a grill. Wide shot panning on the temporary city; most of the structures are made of poles covered w/ fabric or rugs. | |
