| Description: | They call her "Dora", but she's no lady. The fourth major hurricane of the season slams at Jacksonville Beach and points north and south with winds of 100 m.p.h. and upwards. Damage is heavy, especially to the citrus crop, as the big winds heads across Florida to the Gulf of Mexico. A subdivision in Florida, water inlets where people have their own personal docks by their homes, wind is blowing and the rain is coming down hard. Boats rocking at their pier sites rocking back and fourth. Apartments, businesses and parts of trees projected through the air. The Atlantic Ocean and the turbulence of the ocean, pounding waves due the outskirts of the hurricane that will hit land full force. A home with a up-rooted tree that just missed their house. A car making its way through the storm, nothing else is around. In St. Augustine you see what's left of a beach due to the power of the storm and the erosion of sand. Atlantic Ocean, palm trees taking on the wind and the pounding of the surf on the beach. | |
