| Description: | THE GENTLE ART OF FISHING - IN THE ARCTIC Salmon fishing in Labrador - holes are dug in the ice. Labrador, Canada Man running on snowshoes followed by 2 teams of sled dogs and their mushers. Next, a man walks holding onto lead dog in team of 3, who are pulling sled w/ pile of fir branches or small trees. He stops and sticks one of these little trees into the snow. LS he comes to ring of poles stuck into the ice; the poles mark the ends of a large net. He shovels snow off small area inside poles; meanwhile another guy is arriving on a dog sled. One man breaks a hole in the ice while the other hangs a tarp around the poles (as a windbreak?). MLS guy trying to spear hole in ice; this must not be the same hole, because there's no poles, etc. MS man bending over hold in ice inside the tarp-covered poles. He pulls up net, taking out fish caught in it. MCU man sticks his hands into the icy water in the hole - according to title this is to warm them up! He pulls out more of net w/ fish. Shot of several men tossing salmon onto a huge pile on the roof of a very primitive small log cabin. | |
