| Description: | THE IRON MEN OF HUNGARY Steelworkers in Hungary. Work in a Hungarian foundry - various shots of men at work. Hungary Interior of plant, in center masses of sparks coming from furnace? A "train" of heavy duty vats rolling past, w/ worker riding on the side; looks like flames coming from inside the containers. Wide shot interior: pan on what looks like stream of fire flowing through the factory; workers seen as silhouettes in BG. Dark interior: MS worker uses long clamps to pull white-hot bar of iron from furnace. LS he carries it across room and inserts it into another door; meanwhile at left what looks like a rope of white hot stuff seems to spring out of another opening by itself, then w/ help of a worker, gets sucked back inside. Ingot of white hot metal held by clamp approaches camera, is laid down on rollers of machine and conveyed into machine at left. CU metal on the rollers going through machine, where it is pressed into long rectangular shape to become steel rail. More LS's of this process, w/ metal going over rollers, workers guiding it into place. | |
