| Description: | THE LIVING STATUE Lumberjack climbs up a very tall tree to chop part of the top off. North America Wide shot panning upward along tall tall bare trunk of pine tree; most the limbs are cut off but there are still some at the top; smaller pines in BG. MCU man's legs; he wears boots with spikes and straps etc. etc. MLS the man picks up a length of rope, turns toward camera and speaks. LS he starts to climb the tree, digging in w/the spikes on his boots and holding onto both ends of rope wrapped round the trunk; this shot gives a good idea of the circumference of the tree trunk, which is several times bigger around than the man climbing it. Pan up with him as he climbs. Wider shot same; the man climbs past broken off stubs of limbs. Wide shot in silhouette of the climber perched up in the tree, hacking off branches. Several branches falling. Then a wild shot of the entire top part of the tree falling off (and this piece alone is probably 100-200 ft. long!). As it falls, the remaining trunk, now just a huge pole, sways back and forth, w/the man at the top hanging onto it. Wide shot of the man standing up on top of the trunk waving his arms - as the title implies, this looks like a tiny living statue on top of a gigantic pedestal. | |
