| Description: | THE MAKER OF MASKS Mr J S Melvin makes masks for decoration - good 1930s designs. Various shots of mask-maker Mr J S Melvin sketching a woman in Elizabethan costume. He then makes a clay model of the mask on an easel, still using the woman as a basic model. She watches Melvin make a flexible jelly cast from the basic design, then plaster is poured into the jelly mould. To the dried plaster mask, Melvin adds huge paper eyelashes and paints on make-up. C/U of the finished mask and another similar design. Melvin holds another version (all are presumably taken from the same basic design). Final shot is of the woman laughing. | |
