| Description: | THE MOTOR SKATER Man buys pair of motorised skates from cycle shop and while trying them at home runs out of control out of the house and along streets upsetting and being chased by an ever increasing number of people. Opens with sign in bicycle shop window: "The Latest Craze. MOTOR SKATES." Man enters excitedly; talks to merchant who shows him how they work. He hands man a cylinder marked "Petrol"; then takes it back; shows him a battery with coiled wires etc. attached from it to 2 a model of the Motor Skate or at least part of one, wheels are aligned as on Rollerblades. CU invention - smaller wheel between the larger 2 moves causing them to move. Next; the man sitting at table; wearing skates; with the Petrol; battery; etc. hanging around his neck. 3 young women & an old lady watch as he stands. He skates into elderly woman. Next shot out of sequence: the girls help him on with skates. Man skates around the table, holding onto it and spinning it round; with girl sitting on top of it laughing. Then he loses his grip; crashes through wall! Women running out hole in brick wall. Man skating down st; up hill; etc. Policeman crouches waiting; tries to grab him; is knocked down. Skater is chased by a growing crowd. He finally runs into park; swims across river. Continues with more "disasters". He gets head & shoulders stuck in a pipe; he falls down in street and is dragged by skates. At this point the crowd arrive and gather round him; pull him up. | |
